A Weekend with Jackson

My sister Hannah gave birth to her first on August 24th. He was a premie born at 35 weeks and weighing in at 5lbs 5oz. He spent the first ten days of his life in the NICU, but now he is home and doing well. It is so fun to see my baby sister as a mommy. She is really doing great! We were so blessed to be able to spend Labor Day weekend with my new nephew Jackson. Connor, Colby, Cade, and Ryleigh were all very excited to meet him and immediately fell in love.

My mom decided to take several fun pictures. The pile of kids feet turned out great. Can you guess which feet belong to Jackson?
Ryleigh thought that Jackson was her baby doll because he is the same size. She was so excited! She even got to taste some of his milk out of his bottle.

Cade is such a big boy. He loved holding Jackson and helping Aunt Hannah take care of him.
I have titled this picture "Colby Jack" since together they make cheese. This picture is completely different than the one of Colby meeting Ryleigh for the first time.
As usual Connor is the super proud eldest cousin. He loves being the big boy and helping love on all of his cousins. It was such a great weekend.
When Hannah thought she was going to deliver at 32 weeks she asked a lot of questions about how she should take care of her premie. She was told that it was a good thing for Jackson to be around his cousins to build up an already strong immune system. They told her not to be afraid to go anywhere she wants. Jackson has already been given permission by the pediatrician to travel to California, where Daniel may be the new pastor of a church, but Hannah hasn't been cleared by her doctor. As soon as Hannah is allowed Jackson will be going on his first trip.
On the way home from Las Vegas, we got to see Grandma Louise and Aunt Kay. I love going to Aunt Kay's house. She has a big back yard full of treasures for the kids to play with. This trip they were able to run through the sprinklers, which the kids really needed after that long car trip. Then Grandma and Aunt Kay fed us pizza, and Grandma showered the children with gifts. It was the perfect ending to a great weekend.
