Santa Maria Day 2

The morning started out slow because we didn't have any official plans until 11:30am. We had a mini birthday party for Jackson. He doesn't really turn one until the end of August, but since it is his first birthday and we were all together it seemed like a good idea. We sang Happy Birthday, he ate cake, and we gave him a few birthday presents. My kids had a great time helping Jackson play with some of his new toys. Uncle Chris playing with Jackson.

Connor enjoying himself and watching all the action.

At 11:00 we headed out to Avila Beach. My mom had hired a photographer to spend the day with us taking pictures. We all wore either orange or yellow and had a blast posing for all kinds of pictures.
Connor and Grandma Judy are trying to make Jackson laugh for a great picture.

We rented Grandma Louise a beach wheel chair and covered her with jackets and blankets. She had a tough time staying warm but she still had a lot of fun.

We decided to ford through the water to get to this rock so we could get a really great family picture. It was so much fun!

Can you believe the waves behind us?

Ryleigh playing. All the kids love to run in the waves.

When my mom saw the sign she couldn't resist getting a picture. Dad is always along for the ride.

Uncle Daniel keeping the kids contained so they don't get into the picture.
Connor dug a huge hole and then buried himself in the sand. He thought it was the best thing ever. Grandma Louise thought he was going to suffocate or break a limb. He had to show her he could get out before he could bury himself yet again.

Papa David, Cade, Colby, and Chris decided to play catch on the beach. When Connor was done being buried he joined them.

After spending the entire day at the beach we decided to have dinner at Chucky Cheese. Colby and Ryleigh took several pictures together at the sketch machine. Most of them only showed parts of their heads or faces. It was really cute.

I got to take Jackson on his first kiddie rides. As long as I giggled and clapped he was happy. He is such a great baby! Really easy to keep happy.
Grandma Louise bought all of the kids ice cream to finish out the adventure. They couldn't have been happier.

It was a really great day! We spent so much time at the beach that everyone ended up getting sunburned. Chris got it the worst. He was actually blistered on the top of his head. Thankfully he is now completely healed!
